A Love That Grows
This photoshoot was deeply personal.
I had the pleasure of doing a maternity session at home with my wife and our son. No studio, no complex setup, just natural light, familiar spaces, and real moments unfolding in front of me.
The idea wasn’t to create something overly posed or perfect. It was about preserving a feeling. The quiet anticipation, the softness of this phase, and the unspoken bond already growing stronger before the baby even arrives.
Photographing your own family comes with a different kind of challenge. It’s harder to step back and observe when you’re emotionally part of the scene. There were moments where I had to remind myself to pick up the camera instead of just standing there and taking it all in.
Our son brought a beautiful energy to the shoot. Nothing was forced, his reactions, his curiosity, the way he naturally connected with his mom. Those small, unscripted interactions became the most meaningful frames.
Working at home also meant embracing limitations. Space, light, and angles weren’t always ideal. But instead of fighting that, I leaned into it. The imperfections made everything feel more honest. More real.
What I enjoyed most was the intimacy of it all. No pressure, no expectations, just us, having fun together. Capturing these moments felt less like a photoshoot and more like documenting a chapter of our lives.
These are the kinds of images that will mean more with time. Not because they are technically perfect, but because of what they hold.
Looking forward to printing them out and putting them on the walls so I can look at them every day for the rest of my life.
Until the next frame.
